EBP SIG: What counts as good evidence in optometric practice?
EAOO Online Discussion – 28 April 2026
We’d like to invite EAOO member to an upcoming online discussion taking place on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 @19:30 CEST.
This session will be an open and interactive exchange, focusing on the topic:
“What counts as good evidence in optometric practice?”
The discussion will be led by SIG Leader Daniela Oehring and will provide an opportunity for participants to share perspectives and experiences. Rather than a formal presentation, this session encourages active engagement from all attendees.
To guide the conversation, we will explore questions such as:
- What should genuinely count as robust evidence in optometric practice?
- How should we approach evidence that is weak, heterogeneous, or conflicting?
- What role should clinical expertise and patient preferences play alongside published evidence?
- At what point does “best available evidence” become, in reality, habitual practice?
No preparation is required—participants are encouraged to join and contribute to this open and informal discussion.
Registration link has been send to EAOO members by email.
We look forward to your participation.
